In 2019 the Sacramento City Council passed an ordinance to enact rent control and eviction restrictions in the city of Sacramento. The new regulations on rental properties are enforced through the Tenant Protection Program.  This government agency is funded by a new fee on rental properties, and now the City is in the process of registering and invoicing properties that are subject to the ordinance. In addition, the City contracted with Sacramento Self Help Housing to provide intake and outreach assistance services for tenants residing in rent-controlled properties. During this webinar representatives from the Tenant Protection Program and Sacramento Self Help Housing will provide important new information about the program, including details about registering properties, paying the annual program fee, and the role of Sacramento Self Help Housing regarding tenant rights.

Speakers:

Tina Lee-Vogt, Program Manager, Community Development Department, City of Sacramento

Vickie Riggins Medina, Tenant Protection Program, City of Sacramento

Tahirih Kraft, Sacramento Self-Help Housing
